At EmpowerQ, we support queer professionals in Nigeria with practical tools to grow, thrive, and move forward in their careers. Everything we offer is grounded in lived experience and shaped by the real challenges our community faces.
We're rolling out our support in focused phases—starting small, but building steadily. Here’s what you can expect:
Programs
We offer hands-on career guidance, including:
-
Virtual workshops led by professionals who understand the realities of job hunting while queer
-
Free CV and LinkedIn profile reviews
-
A growing resource hub filled with templates, job boards, and safe company recommendations
-
Weekly updates with career opportunities and useful content
💼 Career Support
1
We know how valuable it is to talk to someone who’s been there. Our mentorship program connects queer professionals with mentors who can offer guidance, feedback, and encouragement.
In the early phase:
-
You’ll get paired for one or two focused conversations
-
Later, we’ll offer longer mentorship rounds and peer accountability partners
-
We also provide guides for both mentors and mentees to help make the most of the time together
🤝 Mentorship
2
We’re creating a space that’s equal parts support system and sounding board. A place where you can ask honest questions, share wins, and not feel like you have to shrink yourself to fit in.
We currently run community spaces on WhatsApp and will grow into more platforms over time, including virtual panels and safe-space conversations with queer professionals from different industries.
